IN RE:
HB929 by Anchia (Relating to the duties of a magistrate to inform an arrested person of consequences of a plea of guilty or nolo contendere.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to require a magistrate to inform an arrested individual that a plea of guilty or nolo contendere for the offense charged might affect eligibility for enlistment in the United States armed forces or might result in discharge from service. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
