IN RE:
HB976 by Metcalf (Relating to public school safety and security measures, policies, and procedures.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that the provisions of the bill relating to public school safety and security could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

School districts and charter schools may have increased costs related to continuing education requirements as well as costs resulting from policies that are adopted in accordance with School Safety Center guidelines. Other costs could result from increased compensation that may be provided to employees who are designated to serve as emergency management coordinator. The extent of these costs would vary by district.
