No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code to require mandatory continuation of the appointment of either a guardian or an attorney ad litem for a child after the Department of Family and Protective Services is appointed permanent managing conservator of the child.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
