No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to authorize the commercial fishing of channel catfish in certain additional locations.  The bill would also authorize the Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) to regulate the fishery following a determination by the agency that regulation is necessary.

According to TPWD, there is no significant fiscal impact to the agency.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Association of Counties, the bill is not expected to have a fiscal impact on Starr and Zapata counties.
