No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 161 of the Health and Safety Code to require the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to provide first responder employers with direct access to their employees' immunization information, with the first responder's electronic or written consent. The bill would authorize DSHS to establish a process for first responders to access their own records. It is assumed that the provisions of the bill could be implemented using existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
