No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Agriculture Code to allow for the sale of eggs produced by a person's own flock if the eggs are labeled "ungraded." The bill would require the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) to allow persons who remit less than $360 in special fees on eggs for the year to remit those fees annually rather than monthly. Based on the analysis of TDA and the Comptroller of Public Accounts, duties and responsibilities associated with implementation of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
