No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code and the Government Code to provide that a notice is satisfied if the attorney representing the State timely discloses an original-format criminal history to the defendant's attorney. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
