No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to require a court to pay fees to an attorney appointed by the court the amount agreed upon in writing and permits an attorney to sue to recover the agreed upon compensation. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
