IN RE:
HB1418 by Phelan (Relating to disease prevention and preparedness information for emergency medical services personnel on certification or recertification.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 773 of the Health and Safety Code to require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to adopt rules to develop a system to provide an applicant for certification as emergency medical services personnel with the applicant's immunization history, if it is included in the immunization registry managed by the Department of State Health Services (DSHS), or with information about the registry and disease risks specific to emergency medical services personnel that may be prevented through immunization if it is not included. HHSC and DSHS determined that the provisions of the bill could be implemented using existing resources. The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house.
