IN RE:
HB1420 by Dominguez (Relating to the composition and duties of the Public Health Funding and Policy Committee.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to require the Public Health Funding and Policy Committee to meet with the Task Force of Border Health Officials. The bill would require the committee to make recommendations to the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) related to public health services provided by local health entities at least biennially.

The bill would require DSHS to file a report with the governor, the lieutenant governor, and the speaker relating to the implementation of the committee's recommendations before November 30 of each even-numbered year.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.

This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill can be implemented using existing resources.
