LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 86TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 5, 2019

TO:
Honorable Dade Phelan, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director     Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director
Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1438 by Turner, Chris (Relating to the contents of and public access to personal financial statements filed by public officials and candidates.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the contents of and public access to personal financial statements filed by public officials and candidates. While the Texas Ethics Commission's analysis indicates one-time technology costs to implement the bill, it is assumed that these costs could be absorbed using existing agency resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
