Honorable Dan Huberty, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director     Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director
Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1471 by Darby (Relating to a school security volunteer program.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize school districts and charter schools to establish school safety volunteer programs in which certain eligible individuals would be authorized to serve as school safety volunteers and provide school security services.

It is assumed that the provisions of the bill relating to school security volunteer programs could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

Districts choosing to establish school safety volunteer programs could see increased costs related to training volunteers and establishing and managing their programs.
