No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code and the Occupations Code to authorize municipalities to designate employees other than peace officers to request the removal and storage of certain abandoned or illegally parked or operated vehicles.  The bill would also expand to statewide effect an existing authority granted to certain municipalities to tow away certain vehicles parked illegally in residential areas.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Municipal League, the bill would have no significant fiscal impact on cities.
