HB1613 by Moody (Relating to the provision of recovery community organization services under Medicaid.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to provide Medicaid reimbursement for services provided by recovery community organizations. HHSC would also be required to establish a work group to provide input for the adoption of rules related to provided the reimbursement. According to HHSC, providing reimbursement to recovery community organizations would be expected to increase utilization of the peer specialist benefit. It is assumed any costs associated with that increase can be absorbed within the available resources of the commission.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
