No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Section 6.412 of the Tax Code, related to restrictions on eligibility for service on an appraisal review board.
The bill would provide that in a county with a population of 550,000 or more, a person who has served for all or part of three consecutive terms as a board member on the appraisal review board is ineligible to serve on the appraisal review board during the two-year period that begins on the next January 1 following the third of those consecutive terms.
The bill would not affect taxable property values, tax rates, collection rates, or any other variable that might affect the revenues of units of local governments or the state.
The bill would take effect January 1, 2020.
