No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to restrict claims in an arbitration proceeding if the party advancing the claim could not sue for the claim in court because the applicable limitations period expired. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house or September 1, 2019.
