No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code and Penal Code to prohibit the prosecution or referral to juvenile court of a person younger than 17 years of age for the offense of prostitution.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.

The Department of Family and Protective Services, the Office of Court Administration and the Juvenile Justice Department indicated they could absorb the costs associated with implementing the bill within their current resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
