This bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the authority of certain advanced practice registered nurses. The bill makes conforming amendments to the Government, Health and Safety, Human Resources, and Insurance Codes. Based on information provided by the Board of Nursing, Texas Medical Board, Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Board of Pharmacy, and Employees Retirement System, this analysis assumes that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
The bill would take effect on September 1, 2019.
