HB1812 by Murr (relating to the provision of funding for indigent defense services.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code related to the grant making authority of the Texas Indigent Defense Commission.

Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, the bill would make no substantive changes to the Commission's authority and the responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
 
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Association of Counties, no significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
