The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, the Education Code, and the Family Code to require the sharing of certain law enforcement records with public primary or secondary schools where a child is enrolled to determine whether a child who has been arrested is a danger to the school. This information may be shared only for the purpose of conducting a threat assessment or to prepare a safety plan related to the student.
