IN RE:
HB1846 by Klick (Relating to age-appropriate normalcy activities for children in the managing conservatorship of the state.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code to require a court at each permanency hearing to review the Department of Family and Protective Services efforts to ensure a child in conservatorship of the department has regular, ongoing opportunities to engage in age-appropriate normalcy activities, including activities not listed in the child's service plan.

Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration and the Department of Family and Protective Services, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
