No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code to provide that a court would lose its continuing jurisdiction to modify its order in certain suits affecting the parent-child relationship if another court renders an order of adoption. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
 
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
