No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to allow a professional to disclose confidential information to a descendant of a patient of a state hospital if the patient has been deceased for at least 50 years and the disclosure does not violate the expressed preference of the deceased patient.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
