No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code relating to a child's gender identity or expression in suits affecting the parent-child relationship and other proceedings involving children. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration and the Department of Family and Protective Services, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
 
The provisions of the bill would apply to suits filed on or after September 1, 2019.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
