No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to require the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to consult with physicians and other health care providers to develop and implement a state plan for education on and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.
 
The bill would require DSHS to seek comments from interested parties, review and modify the state plan at least once every five years, and submit a report to the legislature no later than September 1 each even-numbered year. The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
 
The agency indicates the provisions of the bill can be implemented within existing resources.
