No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to provide that a documented tribal council member or employee of the legislative branch of tribal government for the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Tribe, the Ysleta de Sure Pueblo, or the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas may claim an exemption from jury service.
The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the state court system resulting from the bill.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
