IN RE:
HB2091 by Ortega (Relating to the use of promotoras and community health workers in Medicaid managed care.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to allow Medicaid managed care organizations to categorize services provided by a promotora or community health worker as a quality improvement cost instead of an administrative expense. According to HHSC, this practice is currently allowable and therefore no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
