IN RE:
HB2107 by Capriglione (Relating to information provided by a local health jurisdiction on food regulation.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 438 of the Health and Safety Code to add local health jurisdictions to current law pertaining to requests for official determination. Local health jurisdictions would be required to provide an official written determination regarding the applicability of the regulation or the requirements for compliance with the regulation to the requestor within thirty days of the date that the jurisdiction receives the request.
This would require the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to work with local health jurisdictions to assist with requests for information or official determination. DSHS indicates it could absorb the costs associated the bill within its current resources.
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Municipal League, no significant fiscal implication to cities is anticipated.
