May 15, 2019

TO:
Honorable Larry Taylor, Chair, Senate Committee on Education

FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director     Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director
Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2184 by Allen (Relating to a public school student's transition from an alternative education program to a regular classroom.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that the provisions of the bill relating to a public school student's transition from an alternative education program (AEP) to a regular classroom could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

The bill would result in additional costs to districts to the extent that they do not currently have existing staff responsible for coordination of student transition. These costs will vary by district.
