No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the legislature to establish a joint interim committee to study the feasibility and desirability of converting quarries and surface mine pits for use a water storage reservoirs to enhance the state's available water supply. The committee would be required to report to the Governor and legislature its findings and any recommendations no later than December 1, 2020. The committee would be abolished and the statute governing the Committee would expire on December 1, 2020.
This analysis assumes that the duties and responsibilities of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.
