No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would establish a joint interim committee, composed of members of the Senate and House of Representatives, on public health considerations of transportation planning to study methods the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) uses to integrate public health considerations into highway project planning and general TxDOT policy. The bill would require the joint interim committee to report the committee's findings and recommendations to the Governor and the Legislature no later than January 1, 2021. The committee would be abolished and the bill would expire on January 12, 2021.
It is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
