LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 86TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 11, 2019

TO:
Honorable Eddie Lucio, Jr., Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations

FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director     Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director
Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2315 by Thompson, Ed (Relating to evidence of ownership of temporary housing provided by a government agency in response to a natural disaster or other declared emergency.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs indicates the bill would not result in a fiscal impact.  For purposes of estimating cost, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) assumes there would be a disaster as specified in the bill once every five years.  The DMV estimates minimal revenue associated with implementing the provisions of the bill, which is not deemed to be significant.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
