No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to the prohibition of certain employment discrimination regarding an employee who is a volunteer emergency responder. Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration and Texas Workforce Commission, it is assumed that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact

The Texas Association of Counties anticipates a fiscal impact to counties, however, the exact amount cannot be determined at this time.

The Texas Municipal League does not anticipate a significant fiscal impact to cities.
