No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code as it relates to the use of biometric identity verification devices. The bill would permit the use of biometric identity verification devices to verify the identity and age of a person in order to comply with certain alcohol related laws. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission anticipates that the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact. The Department of Public Safety estimates there would be a minimal cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill. The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
