Honorable Tracy O. King, Chair, House Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures
FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2452 by Goldman (Relating to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation complaint review process.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) complaint review process. TDLR already contracts with experts to assist with complaints and although the provisions of the bill grants these experts immunity, TDLR does not expect to significantly increase the amount of contracting for this purpose. This analysis assumes that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
The bill would take effect on September 1, 2019.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
