IN RE:
HB2514 by Martinez (Relating to the appointment of an individual qualified to conduct a child custody evaluation.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Family Code to expand the allowance of a court to appoint an individual to conduct a child custody evaluation when a qualified child custody evaluator is unavailable to a county that is contiguous to the Gulf of Mexico or a bay or inlet opening into the gulf and that borders the United Mexican States or a county that borders Hidalgo County.
Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
