No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Subchapter B of Chapter 2269 of the Government Code, relating to contracting and delivery procedures for construction projects.
The bill would authorize a governmental entity to implement a prequalification process to eliminate unqualified offerors from and prequalify potential offerors meeting minimum standards for consideration for a civil works project and specify requirements and authorizations with regards to the process.
The Facilities Commission, Department of Transportation, Department of Criminal Justice, Military Department, Parks and Wildlife Department, The University of Texas System Administration, Historical Commission, Texas A&M University System Administrative and General Offices, Texas Education Agency, Department of Public Safety, and Preservation Board indicate that the bill would have no significant fiscal impact on the respective agency or institution.
