No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 2301 of the Occupations Code to allow a person who held a manufacturer's license on January 1, 2018, to hold a manufacturer's license, a general distinguishing number, and one or more dealer's licenses and operate as both a manufacturer and a dealer of motor vehicles to the extent that the person only manufactures an engine, transmission, or rear axle for installation in a vehicle that has a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 16,000 pounds and no other type of motor vehicle.
Based on the information and analysis provided by the Department of Motor Vehicles, it is assumed implementation of the bill would not result in a significant operational or fiscal impact to the agency or the State.
