No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require certain building and design standards that a school district or open-enrollment charter school would be required to comply with when constructing new instructional facilities.

The bill would require school districts and open-enrollment charter schools to adopt and implement certain campus safety procedures.

Based on information provided by the Texas Education Agency, this analysis assumes that any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the legislation would not be significant.

Local Government Impact

Under the provisions of the bill, school districts could experience additional costs related to adopting and implementing campus safety procedures and related to implementing the new building and design standards and security requirements. These costs would vary by school district.
