IN RE:
HB2689 by Dean (Relating to the designation of a cybersecurity coordinator by each school district.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
It is assumed that the provisions of the bill relating to the designation of a cybersecurity coordinator by each school district could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
The bill would require districts to designate a cybersecurity coordinator and report to TEA any cyber-attack, attempted cyber-attack, or other cybersecurity incident as soon as practicable upon discovery of the attack or incident. The bill could result in increased costs to the extent that they do not already have personnel serving in a similar function.
