Fiscal Analysis

The bill would require the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) to conduct a study, in consultation with the Texas Department of Transportation on the use of motor-assisted scooters. TTI would submit a report on the findings of the study to the Legislature not later than December 1, 2020.

Methodology

TTI estimates that the bill would require 4 FTEs at a cost of $296,000 for the biennium along with $4,000 in related travel costs.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
