No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to revise procedures for the dismissal of lawsuits based upon or arising from the exercise of the right to petition government, speak freely, and associate freely.

Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be covered within existing resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
