IN RE:
HB2745 by Gervin-Hawkins (Relating to manufacturer disclosure of lipstick and lip gloss ingredients and toxic metals.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to establish a rule requiring a lipstick or lip gloss manufacturer to disclose on the internet and cosmetic label any toxic metals and ingredients, including fragrance, flavor, and color additives, used in the cosmetic.

HHSC and the Department of State Health Services each indicate that the provisions of the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
