No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code, Health and Safety Code, and Occupations Code relating to electronically prescribing controlled substance prescriptions under the Texas Controlled Substances Act.

The Comptroller of Public Accounts, Department of Public Safety, Texas Medical Board, Board of Dental Examiners, Board of Pharmacy, and Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners indicate that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
