No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Natural Resources Code related to a prohibition on the issuance of a permit for a commercial surface disposal facility located near a school. The bill would take effect immediately with a two-thirds vote, otherwise on September 1, 2019.
Based on analysis of the Railroad Commission, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
