No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to permit the admission of evidence showing a defendant has engaged in other conduct similar to the alleged criminal conduct in the exploitation of a child, elderly individual, or disabled individual for purposes of showing intent.
Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
