HB2882 by White (relating to recovery in a civil action of damages attributable to excavation activities.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Utilities Code to allow an operator or excavator to file a civil action for violations of certain provisions of the Utilities Code. 

Based on the analysis of the Public Utility Commission of Texas and the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
 
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
