IN RE:
HB2914 by Bell, Cecil (Relating to the necessity of hearings regarding the dissolution or conversion of certain conservation and reclamation districts.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Water Code to authorize the Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to adopt a dissolution or conversion order for certain districts without conducting a hearing under certain circumstances. The bill repeals a section of the Water Code as a conforming change.
Local Government Impact
According to TCEQ, the bill has a potential for cost savings to a district by avoiding additional costs associated with TCEQ hearings.
