No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to repeal the limitation of civil jurisdiction of the County Court at Law of Kaufman County to cases in which the amount in controversy does not exceed $200,000.
Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
