IN RE:
HB3025 by Talarico (Relating to certain procedures regarding a dispute relating to special education services provided by a school district or open-enrollment charter school.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Local Government Impact
The bill would amend the Education Code to allow school districts and charter schools to offer facilitated meetings with school counselors to parents who decline special education evaluations. The Texas Education Agency assumes school districts and charter schools would possibly incur some costs to hire outside facilitators or additional counselors. This analysis assumes costs would not be significant and would depend on the number of parents who would request facilitated meetings with school counselors under the bill.
